HOW WE FIRST MET

My boyfriend first saw me at a restaurant/bar in San Jose. I was there with a few friends from work. We were having a great time drinking and dancing not knowing that the whole time Lemar was at the bar watching me. He was waiting for the opportunity to approach me. That opportunity never came because this other guy that was hanging around us, he thought we were together because he saw us kiss.

The next night, I went to the same place with some of my girlfriends. We were seated at a table in the corner of the restaurant having dinner. I noticed this guy kept walking by our table.  He must of walked by at least 5 times. At first I thought he was looking at my friend seated to my right. Then my friends said who is this guy that keeps walking by our table. I said he is looking at my friend Rhodie. Then they all said in unison, “No, he is looking at you.” Moments later, Lemar approached the table and asked if I was there last night.  I said yes.  He then asked if he could talk to me for a moment.He walked me down the end of the restaurant and first asked if that was my boyfriend from last night. I said no and then he asked me out to dinner.  He then gave me his number. Later that night my girlfriends and I went to a nightclub and I saw him there again. I thought this is weird to run into this guy twice in one night and 2 days in a row.

His phone number sat on my dresser for two weeks. I was cleaning my room one day and looked at the number then tossed it.  I thought he would not remember me since so much time had passed. Three days before Christmas, I thought about him and dialed his number as if I had dialed it so many times before.  Strangely enough I had memorized his number. Here we are 2 years later.

First Date

Our first date was at PF Changs for dinner and then we went to Rooster T Feathers for a comedy show.

Our Song

Our song is Robin Thicke, “Lost Without You” During the time we started dating, this song would always play on the radio. He left me a message one time and let this song play. I also gave him a gift basket for his b-day and gave him this CD.

Challenges

What has been challenging is that we both have kids and we both work night shift. So trying to find quality time for one another has been a challenge.

When did you realize they were “The One?”

I think we both knew from the very beginning. It was instant chemistry and attraction. We both connected so quickly on every level.

Anything Else?

It was my good fortune that I met a great man like Lemar. I believe destiny or fate brought us together. Who runs into a total stranger 2 days in a row and twice in one night? He told me later he walked by the table so many times because he was trying to gather up enough courage to approach me. Approaching women does not come easy for him, but I am so thankful that he did!
