Jen’s version: Brian and I met on March 8, 2008…it was a Saturday morning and I was almost done with my workout at the gym when he passed me and smiled at me at the same moment I spotted him and smiled. See Brian and I had smiled at one another for months, when I look back it could’ve been a year of smiles, mostly in passing because he would arrive to begin pumping iron as I was leaving.

Brian has the most gorgeous smile (not to mention he was super hot from his gym workouts) so I had totally developed a crush on him even though we had never talked. That morning he was earlier than his normal routine due to a optometry appointment and it had been a little while since our paths had crossed so I was very excited to see him…and for some reason I just got this feeling that today was the day…the day we would talk, as I was on the machine next to him lifting weights I caught his eye for just a moment and an awkward sounding “hi” came out of me in what I felt was a very squeaky voice…he greeted me and we shook hands and then we went back to our workouts for a set.

In my head I thought to myself darn, he is sooo hot and totally not going to continue the conversation. For that moment I thought he is just friendly and probably smiles at everyone…then Brian started up some conversation asking what I was doing that day and where I live,etc. Then he did ask for my number and I was sooo happy, now all I had to do was wait for him to call!

I went straight home to my apartment and began telling my roommate that the guy I had told her about for months had talked to me so I was literally jumping up and down in my living room. At the time it was because I was soo excited that this wonderfully hot guy who had been smiling at me at the gym had wanted my number, I had no idea that I had met the love of my life.

That next Tuesday, he called when I was at the gym and left me a message, the moment I got home I called him back and surprise surprise he was at the gym so finally later that night we talked for a few minutes and said we would set-up a date for the next weekend. He called me again that Thursday and we talked for 2 hours, little did I know this hot guy was going to grow to be my best friend and the most amazing man.I enjoy every part of life with Brian and have grown and learned so much with him. I am so grateful that I was brave enough to squeak out that “hi” and that Brian came into my life and swept me off my feet.

Our First Date:
So our first was Saturday, March 15, 2008…we had agreed to go for dinner and drinks…I had told Brian I could meet him since it’s San Francisco and driving around isn’t so fun when your in SF, he insisted on coming to my apt to get me, once he arrived, dressed cute in a new sweater and had a vest over it and a cute hat (was so excited to see him in regular clothes as I had only seen him in gym clothes) we headed to the mission for some drinks and mexican food (my fav) We talked over drinks and I couldn’t get over his gorgeous smile and I just had a wonderful feeling being around him. We stayed out til the wee hours of the morning and had a great time. Here we are nearly 2 years later, so very much in love and enjoying everything together!
