This is the story of how Dan and I first met…

When I first spotted Dan across the Bar that night, there was a voice in my head that wispered, “He looks like a really sweet guy. You should get to know him.”

Granted, Dan was an easy guy to spot…[ he was practically the only guy in the bar without a nose ring and 15 tattoos, you could say her really knew how to “not” stand out in the crowd], but he still definitely caught my eye.

He was handsome and tall…both of which were physical traits I was looking for, but also without even talking to Dan intuition told me that he would also be intelligent and that [we would be a good match, or perhaps it was just the knowledge he could walk through the metal detector at the airport without setting off a hundred alarms.]

So, with the assistance of a little [liquid courage], I did something I wouldn’t normally do.

I walked right up to Dan and said, “ Hi. Do you have a girlfriend?”

He said, “No.” I then proceeded with more essential questions like; What was your major in college, where are you from?, [Do you have a parole officer?], etc etc…..I don’t think I ever got around to asking his name much less introducing myself!… J

Finally, after 5 minutes or so of chatting, my friends Chrissy and Stacey [who were obviously oblivious to the act of providence that was occurring] said it was time for us to [go]. I told Dan my friends and I had to go so Dan asked for my number.

Problem was, I had no number to give Dan! That very day I had just changed my cell phone carrier and I couldn’t remember the number, nor did I have a pen or paper!

We ended up getting a napkin from the bar, and being resourceful, I grabbed some lip-liner from my purse and scribbled Dan’s number down on it!

I made sure to call Dan after we left with my new phone so that he had my number, and I’m pretty sure he called the next day and the rest is history….
