Solio and I first met in an AOL chat room back in the day when it was cool - during the beginning stages of meeting people on the internet. He approached me first asking the usual A/N/L/P (Age/Nationality/Location/Picture)? I sent him my picture; of course I made sure it was the best looking one of me. One day we were chatting and he said, “Hey, I know you!” I’m thinking how do you know me?

It turns out he is friends with my sister’s boyfriend at the time. How ironic right? We continued our online friendship and I flirted with him constantly. I always told my sister’s bf to bring him out or bring him over, but when he came I was so shy I didn’t say a word. But behind the computer I was chatty Cathy. Our friendship grew over time, he never showed any romantic interest in me, but I had fun flirting. Years passed, boyfriends came and gone, but Solio always remained a friend on my buddy list. Summer of 2001 going into our senior year in high school we meet again at raves. Boy, did we have fun at those raves together. Our relationship then turned romantic and we have been together ever since – 9 years this year to be exact. He’s still on my buddy list, under a special category now. But instead of AOL chat rooms, it’s Skype!
