Wit Pending Performance Co., a local improv group, will participate in a nationwide Valentine's Day event when it performs "How We First Met" at 7 p.m. Thursday at the Westport Coffee House.
Dozens of improv groups across the country will stage similar performances.
Jake Walker, company founder and artistic director, said the show will involve Wit Pending members interviewing two couples who will answer such basic questions as: What were you each like before you met? How did you meet? When did you know you were in love?
Then, improv actors will use those answers to re-enact moments from each couple's lives. One couple, Walker said, is from www.match.com, and the other will be Tom and Pam Ptacek, owners of the Westport Coffee House.
Walker said he expected the performance to last an hour to 90 minutes. Tickets cost $6 at the door.
